Sample Instructions to Ushers/Stewards

seatsAs an usher/steward for the Impact World Tour, you are filling a very important position for these events. You will be the first impression people will receive as they enter the auditorium. Please do your best to become familiar with these instructions to help everyone work together to make these events a success.

Your responsibility will be to:
  • Meet people as they arrive.
  • Hand out materials.
  • Maintain order.
  • Count the number of people seated in your section.
  • Collect the offering.
  • Assist people having difficulties.
  • Endeavor to keep people from moving around during the message and altar call.
On the Night, when you arrive:
  • Report for duty, in best appearance, one hour before starting time or as early as possible. Go directly to the Usher’s/Steward's Check-in Table. There you will receive:
    • Assignment slip
    • Offering Container (if an offering will be taken up)
    • Offering Envelopes (if an offering will be taken up)
    • Other handouts
  • Go immediately to your assigned station. Your reserved seat will be marked and should correspond with your assignment slip. Place offering container under your chair.
  • Fill the seats in your section as tightly as possible.
  • When you hear the announcement from the platform that the offering is going to be received, listen carefully and promptly carry out any instructions given. Pass out envelopes and wait for the instruction to receive the offering from those seated in your section.
  • As you are taking the offering get a count of the people in your section. Record the number on your assignment ticket and turn it in with your offering bucket.
  • Your Section Supervisor will collect the offering buckets.
  • If an additional offering is to be taken, your Section Supervisor will provide envelopes.
  • Please keep unused offering envelopes and materials to return to the Usher’s/Steward's Table after the meeting. Do not put them in offering buckets.
  • At the conclusion, look over your section - take lost items and unused materials to the Usher’s/Steward's Check-in Table.
Remember
  • Be alert to any situation that arises.
  • Be tactful, but firm, as you deal with people.
  • You are not the police; call upon the proper authorities should you need them.
