Logistics Team Leader
Please note: These job descriptions were composed for medium to large sized outreaches with Impact World Tour. For smaller events not all positions or simplified procedures might be required, please apply common sense in determining the needs for your community.
The Logistics Team Leader will be responsible for the communication link between the various logistical team leaders, the Executive Committee, and the local churches. This person will communicate regularly with the Executive Committee keeping them abreast of the development of committees in relation to individual timelines and budget. Some administrative tasks, data entry, and other communication items may be required.
Primary Functions
- Overseeing and assisting the following practical Team Leaders:
- Hospitality Team
- Ushers/Stewards Team
- Arrangements Team
- Publicity Team
- At the beginning this person might also help recruit and fill the Leader and Captain positions of these teams.
- Communicating with all logistical team leaders before each Executive Committee meeting and reporting on the progress of each committee who’s Team Leader will not be present at the Executive Committee meetings.
- Working with Team Leader where necessary, putting together a plan of action and time line for this plan.
- Filling in for any Team Leader who is no longer able to fulfill his or her position until a new leader can be selected.
- As a communication link between IWT and the local churches.
Considerations for the Logistics team leader
- Ability to work well inter-denominationally.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Is a pleasant person with whom to communicate, and who is not easily flustered.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Procedure
Step One: Familiarize yourself with all of the responsibilities of this team. Draw up a timeline for events and deadlines for preparation. This will be extremely important, so it is best to do this with the IWT Coordinator.
Step Two: Build the team - encourage members to bring interested or qualified people from their own church and other churches.
Step Three: Help with the appointment of Team Leaders and Captains:
Step Four: Organize and oversee the development of each facilitator’s responsibilities, keeping planning on track. Also keep the master calendar at the IWT office updated.
