“If you weren’t there you missed a treat. I had to bar the doors to stop some of the 3rd year boys from coming in to the 4th year school assembly. I never had to do that in my life.” That’s just one of the highlights Rev. Grant Barclay, Co-Chair of the IWT Kilmarnock Executive Committee, shared at the Celebration evening in Fenwick.

The impact has been tremendous and different for each individual involved. We are in awe of what God is doing and so very grateful that He would let us play a part. We heard from parents in local churches who were inspired by seeing their kids step out to lead their friends to Christ;  a good number of them are already considering how they  can use their giftings in missions. Others were blessed by “seeing that the church is still able to connect and commuicate powerfully with young people.”

The evangelism didn’t just happen on stage - one night some Team Xtremers went to a local pub. No telling what went through the regulars’ minds when some big, hairy Norwegians walked through the door, trailing baseball bats behind them. But the message was clear enough when they broke the bats and started talking about Jesus.

Kevin Stark, the TX leader, dropped in at one of the local youth clubs and by encouraging one boy to take a stand for God, led 8 other kids to commit their lives to Christ.

On their day off, members of GX international went to Loch Lomond (to take a dip!) and enjoyed a cup of tea in Luss. Before leaving they had already witnessed to 5 people and before the end of that day, the number was nearer to 20.

As for the churches involved, it gave them a chance to be about their core business: telling people about Jesus and helping others to find Him. And what a delight for a lot of the ministers to see so many from their own congregations being very actively involved. “The church was taken seriously because it took a risk in order to share its message.” On the tongues of  many was the realisation that “what binds us together is so much better and stronger than what divides us. We can do so much more together.”

And to close with the words of Alex McLeod from Central Evangelical Church “how good Impact World Tour has been is now down to us.”
